Pat McGrath, Executive Director

Pat joined the Lifesaving Society in December 2018, with over 20 years of aquatic program delivery and facility management. Prior to taking the role of Executive Director Pat was the Recreation Manager at the Canada Games Centre and was an active member of the Lifesaving Board of Directors.

Pat holds a Bachelor of Management from Dalhousie University and has been an active volunteer with in the community coaching track & Field, Hockey and as a fire fighter in Hammonds plains. Pat has been involved with Lifesaving sport since 1988 as an athlete, coach, official and team manager Most recently Pat was the team manager for the Canadian Lifesaving team travelling to Egypt, Japan, Australia, South Africa and France for competitions.

Paul D'Eon, Special Projects Director

paul deon When the province announced the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service (NSLS) contract had been awarded to the Lifesaving Society on March 8, 1999, Paul D'Eon was hired shortly thereafter to manage the program. Paul began working with the NSLS as a lifeguard in 1975 when the program was administered by the Canadian Red Cross. In 1984 he was promoted to the Coordinator role, and has been involved with the NSLS ever since.

Paul holds a B.A. in Physical Education and Recreation from Acadia University and has been involved as a volunteer with many recreation and sports related organizations, most recently as President of Recreation Nova Scotia and on the national steering committee for the Sport of Lifesaving. Paul's role with the Society is to manage the Nova Scotia Lifeguard Service contract in addition to other responsibilities.

Kathryn MacPhee, Program Manager

Kathryn joined the Lifesaving Society in October 2017, with 7 years of experience in Aquatic programming and administration. Kathryn has a passion and a flair for teaching aquatic leadership programming and developing future leaders. Kathryn holds a bachelor of Kinesiology for St. Francis Xavier University and is currently taking the Non-profit Leadership program at Mount Saint Vincent University. As the Program Manager Kathryn oversee the development and delivery of leadership and first aid programming in Nova Scotia.

Hylda Galley, Member Services Manager

HyldaG Hylda Galley joined the Lifesaving Society in October 2007, after 7 years experience as Office Manager for a small business. She has had extensive customer service experience, both in her previous position, and in the retail banking industry.

She provides administrative support for the Executive Director, as well as conducting the day-to-day business operations of the office.
