Lifesaving sport nationals are at the beach today

SUPERVISION WILL END TODAY ON AUGUST 24TH.

The latest beach conditions at Rainbow Haven Beach

We are currently experiencing STRONGER currents then usual. Stay at knee depth or shallower, and keep small children within arms reach at all times when around the water. Beware of Rip currents

Date: Sunday August 24th 2025

 Weather: Sun / cloud

Humidity: High

Water Temperature: 16°C

Air Temperature: 23°C

Surf:

Wind: Moderate South West

UV Index: 7 (High) @ 12pm

Lifeguards On Duty: Alicia, Jill, Anna, Piper, Edward, Brigid,

Be aware of the strong rip current from the channel on the eastern end of the beach, to the left of the guard chair. If you notice you're caught in it and are getting pulled out to sea, do not try to swim against it. Swim directly to shore then walk back to your spot.

There is a rock pile to the right of the guard chair on the eastern side of the beach which has sharp barnacles and a rip current during mid to high tide. Be careful entering the water in this area, and do not play on the rocks or in the rip.

The yellow and red flags indicate the supervised area, which is the safest place to swim and stay!

If you have any questions, please ask a lifeguard.

 Rainbow Jr. Guards:

Wednesday - 1pm-2pm,

Friday and Sunday - 11am-12pm

Stay safe and have a great day!
