Maritime Drowning Report 2023

Drowning fatalities continue to steadily decline in the Maritimes according to the Society’s most recent Maritimes Drowning Report, but the contributing factors remain the same. Not wearing a lifejacket or PFD is still the single most significant factor. Males continue to account for nearly 9 out of 10 drowning deaths.

Drowning Reports are only available after the data collection; therefore, the current report for the Maritimes is the 2023 version..
